James Robinson
James Robinson is curator of medieval art and archaeology (ca. 1066-1540). He has a particular interest in medieval devotional practices and is currently working on a proposal to publish a collection of more than 700 pilgrim souvenirs. Robinson is one of a number of curators at The British Museum with responsibility for administering the Treasure Act and publishing up to 150 new finds a year in the annual report commissioned by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Of these finds, iconographic finger rings, inscribed jewellery and seal dies are special favourites. He is also working on a paper for the British Archaeological Association on the use of seal dies by medieval women.
