Bjørn Lomborg, Ph.D., is associate professor in statistics, department of political science, University of Aarhus, Denmark. He has published internationally in the fields of game theory and computer simulations. He is a member of the Learned Society of Aarhus and of the American Political Science Association.Lomborg is a concerned environmentalist, a former Greenpeace member, a left-wing sympathizer who is a vegetarian because he does not want to kill animals. When he started investigating the statistics behind the current gloomy view of the environment, he was genuinely surprised. He published his findings as four lengthy articles in the leading Danish newspaper, unleashing the biggest post-war debate in that country, with more than 400 articles in all major papers. He participates frequently in public debate, has been offered tenure-track positions at several US universities (including UCLA), and has lectured widely on his ideas concerning the environment in Denmark, Scandinavia and the rest of Europe.
