Manufacturing Anywhere

| Seminar Introduction |
Are we in the middle of the second industrial revolution? With new approaches to production and powerful networking technology, manufacturing is becoming increasingly dispersed across companies in the supply chain. This pattern is occurring both domestically and globally and manufacturers are moving out of well-known urban centers and dispersing around the world. New opportunities for consumer design and customization are just around the corner. Industry will never be the same.
This seminar explores the changes that the twenty-first century will bring to manufacturing. Experts discuss how new technologies promise to transform the way that companies do business and help them cater production to the growing global marketplace. In light of changing supply-chains and sprawling manufacturing centers, they ask questions about the future of environmental regulation and policy. While today's manufacturing sector remains in transition, this seminar takes a peek at the industry of tomorrow.
