Karen Voss
VossWhile completing her dissertation at University of Southern California (USC) on contemporary American cinema and the new West, Karen Voss moved into Web design and film journalism. She served as a multimedia instructor in USC's pilot program to integrate new technologies into traditional curriculum.

Voss also taught a number of introductory film courses and was involved in a great deal of film archival and research projects. In addition to editing a journal devoted to urbanism and film, she has published a number of essays, examining how film represents certain urban spaces: from downtown Los Angeles to Las Vegas; and from surfing zones to experimental architecture.

Voss has been published in Ifilm.com, RES Magazine, Filmmaker Magazine, The Independent Film and Video Monthly and various film-festival catalogues. Most recently she served as producer and writer for AFIfilm.com at the American Film Institute.
