Vicki Botnick is a writer and researcher at the American Film Institute, where she contributes to the AFI Catalog of Feature Films, a preservation project recording every feature film ever made in America. Since earning a master's degree with honors from the University of Southern California's School of Cinema-Television in 1996, she has worked as a film critic, entertainment journalist and film history researcher for such organizations and publications as The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, Movieline magazine, POV magazine and Los Angeles Magazine, as well as many independent authors. When not working or watching movies, she can be found manning the phone lines at the LA Suicide Prevention Center or raising her parakeets, Norman and Millie.
