Wisteria Sinensis Wei's Wisteria Sinensis (2000) is inspired by a poem on the beauty of wisteria. Althought Wei had the words in his mind, the forms he wrote on the paper were not readable, but abstract. Wei sought to make the five vertical lines of the poem look like cascading wisteria by combining the techniques of calligraphy and painting.
