Beguiling Women
Zhang's smooth, lively running script fits perfectly with the mood of the delightful poem, 'The Lantern Festival', by Xin
Qiji (1140-1207), which he wrote out in 1994. It highlights men's enduring fascination with beguiling women:
Women with hair cascading like golden willow tresses, laugh and chat, then vanish in the crowd.
I look for her
a thousand times. Suddenly, turning my head, I see her appear where the lantern light is dim.
