Harold Freeman gave up a job working for the Signal Corps to join the Army. As he put it, "After years of shooting my mouth off about fighting fascism I now felt I should be fighting fascism by shooting with a gun." He fought in Europe with the 83rd Infantry. Here he and his unit hitch a ride through Germany on some tanks.
