Tiger Shark

The tiger shark Galeocerdo cuvier is a huge and powerful fish and as number two in the shark attack league table is considered highly dangerous to people. Easily identified by the broad, square head, faint stripes on the body, lateral keel, unusually strong upper tail lobe and distinctive saw-shaped, hooked teeth in the upper and lower jaw, the tiger shark is one of the most feared sharks in the world. It ranges widely but is more usually found in the tropics and sub-tropics.
