Dr Eric Neumayer is of German nationality and was born on 14 February 1970. Since September 1998 he has been Lecturer in Environment and Development and Programme Director MSc Environment and Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Department of Geography and Environment. He holds a MSc and PhD in Development Studies from the LSE as well as the equivalent to a BSc/MSc in Economics (Diplom-Volkswirt) from the University of Saarbrücken, Germany. He is the author of numerous articles in academic journals as well as Weak versus Strong Sustainability - Exploring the Limits of Two Opposing Paradigms (Edward Elgar, 1999) and Greening Trade and Investment - Environmental Protection without Protectionism (Earthscan, 2001).
