1,156 pages survive of this large folio festival prayer book, but the first and, most importantly, the last pages are long gone. With them might have gone any explicit information about the origins of the manuscript, but for the decoration of the opening of the Yom Kippur hymn Av yedaakha mi-noar with the words "I, David son of Pesah, the scribe, 'Be strong and let us [all] be strong'."
