EDITOR'S INTRODUCTION |
Movie clips, videos and songs can be easily downloaded from the Internet and digitized, copied and distributed from the average household computer. One of the challenges facing the entertainment industry in the 21st century is how to protect these copyrighted materials on the Web while still satisfying public demand for accessible entertainment content. At a digital symposium convened at the American Film Institute in October 2000, industry experts gathered to discuss the intellectual-property issues facing the entertainment industry in the digital age. |
Panelists discuss how the free exchange of information on the Internet can create copyright-sharing violations and infringe upon intellectual-property rights.
