Columbia ACCESS(www.ce.columbia.edu/access/) has been involved in corporate training and education for a number of years, and the website explains just how they have been doing that. ACCESS (Advanced Center for Customized Educational Solutions) now has a classroom on William Street, in the heart of New York City's financial district, which makes it even more convenient for employees and executives working in downtown Manhattan to take continuing-education classes in a range of subjects. |
A sample case study used for one class shows the unique problems ACCESS faces in bringing together students from diverse backgrounds and work experiences. Using distinguished experts from the Columbia community and from around the world, ACCESS creates a unique solution to training and education. One example of this is the International Seminar for Economic and Political Journalists. Sponsored by Citibank, the program has for more than 15 years brought together journalists from Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Asian Pacific region to enhance the participants' familiarity with the economic and political affairs of the United States. |
