Digital Video: An Introduction with Michael Rubin

From: American Film Institute | Taught By: Michael Rubin
American Film Institute This e-seminar is designed to help students start and actually finish a personal video project. Developed by the American Film Institute and Columbia University, "Digital Video: An Introduction" features filmmaker, author and lecturer Michael Rubin. Beginning with Michael Rubin's philosophy of "holistic video" (in which one person performs all the production tasks), the e-seminar offers how-to guidance in using digital video cameras and equipment, organizing material, and adding professional touches like music and titles. It also covers the principles of shooting and editing, including getting enough coverage, putting together different types of shots and creating a structure.

Michael Rubin's latest book, The Little Digital Video Book (Peachpit Press), is highly recommended for students in this e-course. Click here for more information on how to order this friendly guide to the basics of digital video.
